Lead affects homes built before 1978.  Lead based paint was used almost universally in homes until the 1950’s and was used to a lesser degree in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

The main concern with lead is that exposure can harm young children, babies and even unborn children.  People can get lead in their bodies by breathing or swallowing lead dust or by eating soil or paint chips with lead in them.

Our office is able to perform surface checks for lead using chemically treated test swabs.
